Genting Hotel approached Design at Source to expand their hotel bedroom capacity, after continued demand from business and casual guests a like. Meeting spaces, located on each bedroom floor, were to be converted into new bedrooms.
This wasn’t just a decoration project, with the client wishing to draw upon the team’s technical abilities, as well as their ability to meet the demands of the target market. In this case, the client wished to offer rooms that could cater for party bookings, either stag and hen parties, or large family bookings.
Design at Source set about converting the meeting rooms. The team had to draw upon their knowledge of floor, wall and ceiling construction to successfully build rooms, that were acoustically sealed from neighbouring bedrooms.
Meanwhile, plans were developed that allowed twin double beds, to be located within each space. A small lounge setting was created to each bedroom suite, which included a sofa, coffee table, study desk and chair.
The design team ensured that storage and En-suite capacity would match the extra capacity of each room, while also providing good access and flow around the room.
A warm palette of colours, with dark brown timbers, punctuated by gold highlights, were used to create each bedroom suite, reflecting the design ethos of the existing, hotel bedroom stock.
Halo lighting illuminated the sumptuous, metallic, curtains that echoed the high-quality finish portrayed in the rest of the bedroom suite. This high-quality finish was brought through into the En-suite bathrooms, with halo illuminated vanity units, heated mirrors and whirlpool bath.
