Genting Casinos provided Design at Source with an architectural and interior design challenge when they appointed the team to create their Manchester unit, with its single narrow entrance, off one of the cities busiest streets, leading down to a large basement site.
An imaginative use of interactive lighting and good space planning, has ensured that the entrance is a significant focal point, to this listed building, leading towards the reception. The reception desk, completes this striking theme, resplendent with red glass chandliers.
A flowing staircase entices the customer down to the basement floor, with the journey punctuated by an electronic gaming area. Located on a mezzanine floor, over-looking the main gaming floor, this slots area allows customers to game in a more private setting, while over-looking the busy gaming floor.
Relocating the bar and restaurant, from the rear of the basement to the front, has ensured a vibrant and warm welcome for customers, as they enter the gaming floor. The team introduced a colour changing bar top, to give some visual interest, as customers walk down the entrance stairs and arrive onto the basement floor . A large video screen, located over the bar, playing to the rest of the gaming area, has ensured that the bar has become the focal point of the space.
The open plan, kitchen servery gives a focal point to the flexible, restuarant space, as well as giving it an element of theatre.
